(please discourage phone calls during your weekend - it may disrupt your ability to concentrate on each other and thereby gain the best from it.)

Cliff College is situated in the Peak District National Park.  It has glorious views of the Derwent Valley, Curbar Gap and Baslow Edge. The main College building has evolved from an 18th century manor house, extended in the 1930's, the building overlooks a secluded lawned terrace.

The College has a combination of twin, single and double rooms. Standard rooms with shared toilet and shower facilities are available on the lower level of the building. The middle and upper floors are en-suite bedrooms, occupied by our students during term time.

Getting There

Public Transport

The nearest railway station is Grindleford, which lies about 4 miles from Cliff College and has an hourly or more frequent service through the day. At the time of writing this page, there is no convenient onward bus connection, but a taxi may be pre-ordered from a local firm to take you on from the station. The most convenient route in by rail is likely to be via Buxton or Chesterfield. The 66 or 66A bus between Buxton and Chesterfield in either direction passes the college entrance and, although not frequent, has timings that are reasonable for the start and end of the weekend.

Car

Cliff College is about halfway between the villages of Calver and Baslow on the eastern side of the A623 Baslow to Chapel-en-le-Frith road.  It is clearly signposted from both north and south.

It is about 9 miles in a westerly direction from Chesterfield, 15 southwest of Sheffield, The historic market town of Bakewell is five miles to the southwest.

There are so many possible routes into the area that the best advice has to be to put the postcode into your satnav or use one of the route planning websites in order to find the best route for you.
